Search My Blog | My Blog Entries 16 Sep 2009 13:24 I have a new lodger called Honey an unwanted very pretty rex rabbit who was boarded with a lady in Kent who was then told she was unwanted. She is a little bit grumpy with me at the moment and snorts at me when I stroke her but I think she may be hormonal. I will be taking her to the vets tomorrow for a check as she has a little fatty lump on her tummy. I now have 2 rabbits with me needing homes Honey and Dusty the beautiful lionhead. It rained lots yesterday which I don´t like as it means muddy paw prints and getting wet when walking and cleaning out. My bearded collie doesn´t like the rain and I have to persuade her to go out to the toilet. Last night she left me a nice big puddle in the lounge. I got out of bed to let the dogs out, didn´t notice the wee in the dark, slipped on it and banged my head on the coffee table! I then had to clean it up and shower before getting back to bed muttering under my breath at them! My current foster saluki ´Legs´ only needs a whiff of urine and he´s marking for England so this morning Ive had to disinfect loads of places and also take curtains down to wash! Blinkin critters!! On with the day I am collecting Scruffy the yorkie later and taking him for a visit to his potential new home. I´m pretty sure he will be staying :-) 2 Comments 02 Sep 2009 17:10 Rescue is a rollercoaster. Well I managed to get the death row dogs a last minute reprieve due to another rescue promising to take them in the morning HOORAY!!! only for the rescue to back out an hour later meaning the dogs are due to be put to sleep at 4pm tomorrow instead of today. OH NO! So Donna will be working all night trying to find another option for these dogs. 3 Comments 02 Sep 2009 17:07 I have received another of many frantic calls today from my friends at a local pound. They had 3 healthy happy Staffordshire Bull Terriers on death row due to be put to sleep at 4pm. I messaged and texted over 3000 people and rescue contacts with a plea. I would grab them myself but I simply have no room. I am now sitting with the vision of their happy panting faces at the sight of the vet entering their pen only to be going over in my head and hate the fact that so many people disgard their dogs. 0 Comments |
