Any owner can become a member – and breeders have been asked to seek out responsible owners and urge them to join. Membership costs £1 and all subscriptions will be donated to Rottweiler rehoming and welfare organizations. Its first patrons are Mike Mullan and G Duncan Ross. “Our breed has been persecuted mercilessly by the media for more than 20 years and we think it is time we were given a fair deal,” a spokesman said. “The Rottweiler community is frustrated by the way our breed is continuously presented, thus perpetuating the myth that the Rottweiler is a rogue. “This fuels the desire for unscrupulous members of the public to own one.” The spokesman added: “We intend to establish a national database of email and phone links for all owners and supporters of the breed, both registered and unregistered. “This will provide fast and efficient lines of communication so that everyone can be quickly made aware of any unfair, detrimental programme, newspaper article or anything which reflects the Rottweiler in an unjust, negative way.” For more information visit www.rottweilerownerstrust.synthasite.com Comments Post a comment in this discussion: |
