He does this till i wake up and feed him. 19 Jan 2010 16:24 ha :) my cat Smeagol growls at people he doesnt know like the postman :P just like a dog!! 19 Jan 2010 16:09 Wow, Diane, that´s amazing. I´ve heard of dogs being sensitive to stuff like this but not cats. Our cat, George, is around 17yro (he came from Cats Protection with no history, so we can´t be sure of his exact age). He likes to take over our dog´s bed. He will get in with her and then when she gets out for a drink, he stretches himself out and won´t let her get back into bed. She has to bark for help and we have to go downstairs and get George to move over so Millie can get back in. 30 Nov 2009 16:52 My friends old cat called Munchie had 3 legs, she got run over!! Then a month after having her leg taken off she was hit again... a little brusing to the belly but was fine!!! But last month she got hit again and died!!! She had lived till she was 14 though so it was a long life, she had lived 11 years with only 3 legs!! On their first night with me, Thomas (the ginger cat) and his sister Chloe were happily on my bed. Thomas was on my pillow! In the dead of night, he woke me up, growling and hissing at me. I was a bit nonplussed, but a few seconds later I´m having an epileptic seizure! He must have sensed somehow, maybe I was giving off some sort of signal whilst asleep, that I was going to fit! I´m normally unconscious when I fit, but this time I was awake. All through the fit, Thomas had his paw, hid his claws, and repeatedly patted my forehead as if to comfort me! Whenever I am about to cry and say I need a cuddle, he´ll jump up and put both his paws around my neck, putting his furry cheek against my cheek! 29 Nov 2009 14:01 Member Removed Did you know that when a cat purrs, not only does it purr to say it´s happy, it purrs as a way of healing itself! 21 Jun 2009 12:34 Ailurophobia is the fear of cats It has been established that people who own pets live longer, have less stress, and have fewer heart attacks To drink, a cat laps liquid from the underside of its tongue, rather than the top [used for kitty fact] Cats deprived of tryptophan, found in milk, eggs and poultry, become insomniacs A cat can sprint at 30 miles per hour and jump 7 times as high as its tail. When cats jump their footpads absorb the shock of landing. Cats do not have sweat glands. This is why on a hot day, they will find a cool shady spot to sleep in. A cat has from 230 to 250 bones in it´s body. Most domestic cats have 244 and a human has 206 bones. The determining factor has to do with how long a cat´s tail is, and how many toes the animal has. Both humans and cats have identical regions in the brain responsible for emotion. |
