Discussion started by: | Discussion > Apple Cider VinegarHas anyone any experience of using Aple Cider Vinegar to treat skin conditions? Have investigated Dale´s problem for over a year now and willing to try anything to give him relief from the itching. Vet has diagnosed some type of allergy together with immune system breaking down due to age (almost 16). Very reluctant to keep giving Dale steroids long term which has been suggested. Also giving Dale Kali Sulph and Thuja for a wart on his back. The wart seems to be shrinking and hopefully the Kali Sulph is also helping the skin condition. I have consulted my own homeopath and she has OK´d these for Dale. Sprayed a solution of ACV and water on Dale today and so far he has not been scratching. Maybe, just maybe this might be working! I tried oatmeal bath the other day and that also seemed to soothe too. It really is a worry and the vet can find no solution, except to say that it´s some kind of allergic reaction to some substance unknown. Fingers crossed the ACV gives him some relief. I would also keep at hand some Aloe Vera Gel and the one I found most helpful is Herbalife. Bit expensive, but it is excellent. It will help moisturise the skin. Of course some people grow Aloe Vera and just rub the natural juice onto the skin. Not sure if that would be too much for the 16 year old, but it is something you can skin test. I certainly think the Apple Cider Vinegar makes sense. Gets rid of flaking and maybe invisible dust mites? |
