blameing games for kids/adults behaviour

if anyone is to blame its the devolopers ..... they decide what content to put in the game ...
how can anyone think rape& murder is " entertaining " why would anyone play a game like that ....its disburbing

blaming video games for an indivduals choice to commit a violent act ? thats an excuse- a dodge of personal accountability.what about nazi germany, or imperial japan, or rwawanda, or any of the other countless violent societys ? gonna blame video games for that ? i don´t think you can. people are violent for a number of reasons, and they all come down to a personal desision to commit a violent act. a huge problem with todays world is blaming a persons behavior on anything but what it is- them. and yes, flo, america is a violent place. i´ve lived here all my life, and i´ve seen alot of violent things, but you can´t lay this in our laps. and sony is japanese- not american.......

I one a talk to a young children once had to give a talk to young children and when I asked for questions I got one boy asked had I as a sodier killed any one, which I quickly advoided this question, but he follwed up about a game he played on his PC and I ask why he enjoyed it so much and he replied cause I kill so many people that is why. So with the parents permission and the person who asked me, I simply told this boy how would you feel if say like me you had to go over to the person died and take out their wallet and personal stuff and then pick up the body for removel, now by the end of saying this question so many children simply pumped me full of question to the effect we do not do this on our games and we never thought of that, in fact every one Mums Dads Teachers told me it was their best speech ever and boy how dam true I gave such a good picture and how games do not teach you what the emotions are in moments like that. That is why I like games but lets draw a lineunder those that make games really a killing game

i think that most games are completely harmless, for example have you ever seen a violent killing wii or Ds game??? i think that the problem is that some Sony PLaystation 1, 2 and 3 games are just too violent. I think this is partly because nintendo is Japanese and Sony is American. Japan has a much smaller crime rate that America and this is not because America is bigger. I just think that America is much more violent that Japan. I don´t wish to offend anyone though!! :)

the only game that does encourage rape is Grand Theft Auto which in my mind should be banned all together ..... but I can´t see Space invaders encouraging violent somehow or any of the wii games as most are encouraging you to keep fit

we had all those platform games too ally supermario , sonic and tails packman
infact i still have my mega drive and play alex the kid ( i feel old lol )
i perferold platform games like them then the new shoot them up games

Having been raped years ago I certainly agree with Barry on that - the only difference is that in those days the only computer games were the old space invaders and tennis. Noo, we have been playing these games since the kids got a Supnes when they were about 7 and 8 - they got it for Xmas but we´d sat up each night for hours playing it... just checking it worked ok you understand lol. Now we have a Wii and I have the DSi. John loves the war/shooting games whereas I like platform games but he doesn´t go round punching or shooting people and I don´t go round dressed like Spyro the Dragon shooting fire or ice at people; more to the point I am not Mario or Toadie throwing mushrooms etc either.

The one that really concern me is rape ones now that is scarey and why females should be respected not be subject to filthy abusive rubbish like that. But I once told group of school children who come on a visit to my unit. I said what you do not get on your games is feelings, when you play and kill who ever think of this, what if your told to roll over the body and you find while looking forward items that might give you info, you might find a photo of their children or family wife etc, and when you do roll them they let out the last breath from their lungs, then you know this is real, and I saw the colour drain from their faces. Games are fun and should be but glorying killing or rape is just not on
