Fox hunting in my area, illeagal?!

Theres a group of farmers i my area, they call themseves the Old Hall Pest Control and they supposedly get rid of rabbits rats and so on, but is the name just a cover up for what they´re REALLY doing?! Apparently they´re hunting foxes and that is illeagal in my area.

the reson of hunting foxes and any other animal i just cannot understand,what makes us any different from animals? what is the difference between pets and wild animals, its just like an animal has to be a pet so that it won´t be killed or hunted. If its wild and not owned it can be killed, what is the reason of that?!
