A normal day ticket would cost £18.00 so the annual rate is a bargain. To be honest I hadn´t realised before that a membership would be possible but it is nice to know the money is funding the animals! It is much bigger than the London one and there´s more open space for the animals. The penguin pool overlooks the Chiltern hills- what a nice view for them! 17 Aug 2010 13:08 I am lucky that it is easy for me to get to London Zoo by using the tube and then walking through Regent´s Park. They have just started an August event called Zoo Lates where the zoo remains open until 10pm for every Friday evening. It is free to members but would normally cost about £19 otherwise; so as long as I make about 3 visits, then I would have made my money back on the annual membership. I do understand though that for people who live further away, it might not be such a good deal. As Noo has said, you have to include the cost of the travelling to get to the place in the first place! 05 Aug 2010 14:14 it acully works out better for me if i dont go for the zoo membership for me and my family it costs around40-50 pounds each time .......but that is incudeing coach fare they pick us up in machester at 10 am ... we get thare for around 11.15ish .... we have the whole day and it pics us up at 6 right outside the zoo and drops us back off in manchester if i did it the gold way i wouldnt be allowed to use the coach serice so would mean going by train witch would cost an extra 40-50 quid depending on whos going and at what time we travel it works out better for us to just pay the 50 pounds a time 05 Aug 2010 14:00 we have gold cards for colchester zoo. its a year membership so we can go as many times as we like |
