I can understand Jews/ muslims wanting to have kosher/ halal meat BUT by rights they must respect OUR desire for prestunned meat free from any prayers being said over the animal. If only 5% demand it, then the supermarkets/ restaurants/ pub chains/ fast food outlets must be doing it for commercial reasons, ie cheaper. Therefore, where are the savings being made to make it cheaper? I´ve stopped buying meat from supermarkets and go to a local butcher who has assured me all meat in his shop is locally killed in none halal style. Its dearer certainly but at least I know that the animals welfare was the main consideration. I think that only a national campaign will bring about any change (everyone seems afraid of upsetting the minority) but all interseted parties need to "come together" and present a common objective/ voice.

I´ve just watched this Vena & it´a an absolute disgrace. Why isnt this on a prime time TV programme??
Putting the stun/or not to stun issue aside for a moment, why would we want to eat meat that´s had a Muslim blessing said over it??? In fact, why SHOULD we eat it?
Now that I know which supermarkets sell this, I will not go on unsuspectingly supporting the Muslim meat trade.
As the guy in the film said, why are only 5% of the consumers allowed to dictate to the other 95% how their meat is killed? (I would actually question his figure of 5% - I would say it´s much higher)
Thank you for highlighting this.
