Hello all, we had chicken tonight, I´m definately not a veggie - I avoid greens if I can - yuk.
We changed Benji from Bakers to Burns dried food - it seems to have cleared his skin and even calmed him down (just a bit!). It has taken about 6 weeks to see a big difference though.

I love veggies too, mainly eat chicken now though teeth cant manage steak anymore, my avatar is supposed to be a sticky toffee pie (like me) x

Sometimes quite like a veggie meal but couldn´t give up meat. I keep thinking about that cracklin´...yum yum... All this talk of food is making me hungry.
I´m off dog training again later. Maddy is going to start doing Good Citizen Silver, whilst Millie is having a few weeks off before the Gold class starts.

see i was born and breed a vegi so meat has never crossed my mind and the kids are all vegis too there is so much more available for vegis now though i remember when we were little you could hardly get a meal out your avatar makes me hungry.

Hi all, I got two home made cards, a picture of myself drawn by Lois, and a fancy hairclip for mother´s day. The weather has been gorgeous here all day, so had a lovely walk this afternoon in the sunshine, before heading off to my brother´s for tea.
When she wants to go out, Millie will tap the back door, or come and sit in front of me and really stare into my eyes. When she wants to come back in, she barks. Maddy, on the other hand, will stand by the lounge door if she wants to go out, but if she wants to come back in, she can open the back door herself, or if the gate´s closed and she can´t get to the back door, she stands on her hindlegs trying to open the french doors. I put both dogs out in the garden the other day whilst I mopped the utility and let it dry. I was just emptying the bucket into the kitchen sink when the back door opened and in walked Maddy and Millie.

I can´t stand it when OH decides he will do some housework, as invariably he only does the lounge and hall areas. It´s as though the rest of the house doesn´t exist, and he always leaves the hoover, mop & bucket out. It drives me mad. I try to ignore them and tell myself, I´m not putting them away, but if I don´t they will stay there for days and it´s me who keeps tripping up over them grrrrr !!!!

Weather is glorious here, so we´ve had lovely walkies and met up with some doggie chums. OH is home, the coffee is on BUT (and it´s a big BUT) I am having to listen to the muppet song "Am I a Man or a Muppet?" ...does he really want me to answer that ? We went to see the muppet movie the other week and it was ok but I wouldn´t want to see it again, but my OH tells me that this song (and I can´t quite believe this) actually won an Oscar !!!

Just enjoying some peace here as Lois has gone to a friend´s house to play/have tea, but will have to collect her shortly. It´s been cold and foggy here too. OH & I went out for a meal last night (twas our anniversary on Monday). Morning all its horrible here its so foggy I can´t even see me hand in front of me, all I saw on park was these flashing lights on dogs hi-vis jackets it looked like the aliens were hovering as could not see the dogs at all just the different coloured lights, I should of filmed it as it was so eerie seeing these lights hovering about foot off ground, as its so foggy decided to go pub for breakfast, plus its freezing so needed a hot drink to warm me up hehehe.

Tina, the best gnome I´ve ever seen belongs to a friend´s mother. He has a very stern face and is holding a sign up which says "GO AWAY"...now that, I like, and may well get one for our front garden.
Regardless of what you´re buying Tina, me thinks Gnome World sould be rolling out the red carpet for you whenever you turn up. Yes, Olwen, welly planters are nice, but this time next year Tina will probably have about 350 pairs lol.

my beach balls did burst Tina YIKES, so i changed my avatar,,, maybe you should look into getting hold of a gnome mould and going into production ? my brother in law did, he is responsible for all the gnomes in corfu, but he satiated the need for them and moved onto moulds of decorative paveing stones,, he had an albanian work for him all day mixing plaster of paris and my sister painted them,, i have a singular gnome in my garden all the way from sunny corfu

Ho yes they all come in over night during the summer months, it takes about a hour to bring them in &around 2 hours to put them back out again, hubby thought I buy shed for him then he saw I painted gnome home on door he was bit upset hehehe I do trend to spend a lot in gnome world but not all on gnomes, I do buy a lot of plants from them too, now just got to wait for me chauffeur to finish having his shower then me can go to gnome world & nursery, did tell me hubby I not spent more then £250 on plants hehehe Xxx

hi to everyone again, the pup was awesome, and the corned beef hash is THE BEST..they serve it in a white wine mustard sauce...mmmmm.. the only downside to the place is the beer is soooo expensive, not a place to get plastered, so thats a plus i guess. but the atmosphere is wonderful and there´s footie matches everywhere. i was in heaven, i´ll be making that place a regular regular. today i´m taking off a half day to watch arsenal vs newcastle at home, and have got a delicious pot of chili on the boil. i can get used to this not working stuff, but it won´t last..

VHC - with Bullhawk Code Master at Kalverin or better known at Cody, he only took 3 dogs in end as Suki had been sick during the night, he thinks she gulped her food down, I went bit crazy at the stalls buying stuff, I dread to think how much I actually spent hehehhe.

I watched crufts, felt sleepy halfway through so watched it with slitty eyes,,, glad there are dogs being stopped from entering because of better health checks.

I have a carpet cleaner friend, he has a big air blowing thing that drys the whole carpet in no time (i know you dont have carpet) i think you can rent them,,maybe it would speed up the drying time, insurance would probably pick the bill up for that.

Bulldog and Pekingese fail Crufts vet checks








No dog representing the Pekingese and Bulldog breeds will compete in Thursday evening’s Best in Group competitions at Crufts after they failed the new veterinary checks that have been introduced to the show.

The Best of Breed award was not given to Pekingese, Palacegarden Bianca, or Bulldog, Mellowmood One In A Million, following their veterinary checks, which were carried out by an independent veterinary surgeon. This means that the dogs will not be allowed to continue into the Toy or Utility Best in Group competitions respectively.

The Kennel Club has introduced veterinary checks for the Best of Breed winners at all Kennel Club licensed General and Group Championship Dog Shows from Crufts 2012 onwards, in 15 designated high profile breeds. This measure was introduced to ensure that Best of Breed awards are not given to any dogs that show visible signs of problems due to conditions that affect their health or welfare.

The fifteen high profile breeds are as follows: Basset Hound, Bloodhound, Bulldog, Chow Chow, Clumber Spaniel, Dogue De Bordeaux, German Shepherd Dog, Mastiff, Neapolitan Mastiff, Pekingese, Shar Pei, St Bernard, French Bulldog, Pug and Chinese Crested.

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, said: “We are determined to ensure that the show ring is a positive force for change and that we help to move breeds forward by only rewarding the healthiest examples of a breed.

“The veterinary checks were introduced to ensure that dogs with exaggerated features do not win prizes. The independent veterinary surgeon decided that the Pekingese and Bulldog should not pass their checks and therefore they did not receive their Best of Breed awards and will not be representing their breeds in the remainder of the competition.”

I was told to leave everything as it is untill someone has come round check damage. Also best turn the heating off, thought it would help dry everything up.

sue they may need to put air movers in i had them for a month after we had a flood it´s amazing the amount of water that the walls soak in and they need to get it compleatly dry before they do anything. also we told us not to have the heating on to much as it causes mould (which is the first thing you think of doing is turn the heating up to help it dry out but by all accounts it´s the wost thing you can do ) really hope you get things sorted soon xx

i know how you feel vena its my kids though that could break glass with there squeal have you taken the laminate up sue cause if your floorboards are wet they may not dry without removing laminate maybe best checking with insurance company first though

Sue*End BSL* Im sure your insurance company will have all the work finished quickly. but please take all damage into account. we noticed a small leak that in our bathroom had at some stage got underneath the tiled floor. It had rotted the floor boards beneath. They where only menat to lift a few tiles, replace a small area of floor boards and replace the tile. They ended up having to take the bath out, in doing so they broke a border tile,, dont worry they said, we can match it. RESULT, they couldnt. Ended up with a £6000 bathroom refit legitimatly through the insurance.

GRRRRRR, as a few of you no I went off to the New Forrest for a few days, and returned yesterday to a flood. A pipe had burst under the bath and hot water was pumping out all over the floor in hallway, one bedroom, living room and of course bathroom. Im not a happy bunny GRRRRRRRRR

i suppose it very much depends on the pubs you frequent you see us country bumpkins have far more civalised good old fashiond pubs cant see a swish pub in edinburgh allowing me to take the girls in there i were you i would just go to the one an hour away at least you will have worked up a thirst by the time you get there and walked it off by getting home

Jumbo I never use K9´s system alert jacket to get into pubs or other places, he don´t always wear his jacket , a lot of pubs are dog friendly these days, the only ones that are not are the night club ones, I never take K9 to Asda or any other supermarket or into town when shopping, or when we go to restaurants, if we are on holiday then we will find a dog friendly coffee shop or cafe, as will will have all 6 dogs with us.

Hi Tov, yes been on pub since 8 this morning & am still here at 2pm hehehh but did get work done now me & K9 are staying here as its lashing it down the rain is bouncing a good foot off ground, besides we can have a icecream why watching the idiots running down pub car-park with newspapers over their heads to their cars.
Tov I got touring caravan & it fits 4 adults 6 dogs, 3 cats & 2 macaws, good job with take tent with us for the adults to sleep in or we will have to sleep with the animals heheheh xxxx

no just getting my crown fitted weve got a touring caravan and love it we like to go to caravan club cl which only allow 5 caravans on and often my sister goes with her caravan and our mum and dad with theres and collectivly our 5 dogs and 5 kids and its great ps.. all the dogs and kids are really well behaved and have been taught from an early age the caravan dos and donts ie not allowed out to play at stupid oclock and staying out of other peoples pitches etc.. wouldnt concider any other holiday love the freedom getting up going long walks it the country rain or shine fabby

tend not to go to pubs really whilst on a short break in berwick upon tweed last year we found them quite doggy friendly coffee shops etc.. but then went to alnwick and they were exact opposite couldnt get in any where dogs and kids ahh kept checking our backs for signs that said they who must be avoided really not very friendly at all so returned to our caravan in a farmers field and had a cuppa there bliss

There is only 1 pub within walking distance that allows dogs in in my area, and another one that takes a full hour to walk to which we go to occasionally.
My local wont even allow dogs to be outside ! Wetherspoons, i did write to them and they stand by that ruling, i explained it is actually the pavement,, fell on deaf ears,,,, so i would like to get that jacket so we can take him in anywhere. When we go to Suffolk he is welcome in almost all the pubs,,, they prefer dogs to kids in the pubs up there,, much more civilized.

We too enjoy a walk with a nice pub en route, and so far our dogs have not needed jackets to get in.
Freezing fog here this morning, but it turned into a gloriously sunny day by 11, so went out for a training session with Millie, and then a walk with Maddy.

l go in pubs with my dogs and they don´t have jackets .

Am back buy a few more gnomes hehhehehee am in pub now having scampi & chips, K9 as some prawns he loves them plus some of me scampi, then its off to me chauffeur home to pick up his 2 GSD´s then we are off down river gardens again, the hooligans are all at the groomers having a well deserved bath & claws clipped xxx

AWWWWW Tov you really had a tough day in one way or other, if you have any £1 shops in Scotland, then they are selling 6 x 125 gm balls of wool they are big bold colours like red, yellow, green, blue with colour bits in them xxxx

its been nice here today too alot better than the weekend although a really hard frost this morning poppy managed to get in back garden this morning and rolled in a barrow of cement so i had to bath her before 08:00 am this morning and then still had to get kids out to school by 08:40 day hasnt got much better im afraid to say bought some fancy wool to make emily gloves and again poppy got it and running about with it following. think i will go to bed and pray for a better day tommorrow

its been lovely here today well the bits I saw never got up until around 11ish - it dam freezing now got me coal/log fire going now - I had me meat delivered today & the butcher brought me some free dog bones a carry bag full even K9 is eating one xx

Lovely here too today. Went for long walk this morning and spent the afternoon in the garden pruning my climbing roses and generally tidying up - with *help* from my girls, who kept nicking the prunings and running off around the garden with them !

Afternoon all it was a miserable wet morning but now the sun is coming out, been to dog training at Vets this morning with K9 & decided to take one of the hooligans Dottie with me big mistake, the little rascal decided to sit when told to down & down when told to sit I could of swore I saw a smirk on her face hehe but K9 is doing so well & as passed his platinum good dog test, must admit was bricking it when told to walk across road with K9 without a lead, this is done just in case lead snaps & to prove that you have full control of your dog, he sat on zebra & when given heel command he walked lovely to me heel across the road & sat on command once over other side why I put his lead back on, he is now fast asleep lying on his back with his legs in the air.

Morning all it´d beautiful here today lots of sun, I am sitting in hospital garden on me pj´s & odd slippers, can´t go home get as just had brain measurement scan, its for me epilepsy anyway I sneaked out of the ward into the garden got a icecream & bottle pop from hospital shop & me iPad & going to soak up some rays until I can go home.

On a brighter note only 24 days until clocks go forwards 1 hour, I can´t wait lighter mornings & longer nights, it means the dogs can have last walk on park between 9am to 10pm & not just round the block, anyway been found now by me brother & he is glaring at me, i wonder if i can get him to buy me another icecream heheheh xxx

Yuck! No, don´t think she´s done Maddy´s ears yet...it´s the armpits of the front legs and the belly that is being deep-cleaned at the moment, and not just licked either...there´s some nibbling going on too which Maddy is non-too keen on. We keep getting little yelps and growls when Millie´s enthusiasm gets a little too much. Trouble is though, Millie wants to do us too.

Overcast here this morning, but gorgeous this afternoon.
Walked Molly with Millie & Maddy this morning and took Molly home to find her mum had been baking too - I came home with a gorgeous scone complete with strawberry jam and clotted cream. It went down very well with me morning coffee !
Millie is in cleaning mode and she is currently deep-cleaning Maddy´s front/right armpit lol, fortunately Maddy doesn´t seem to mind being soggy xxx

its been beautiful all day now its still warm & I am working through me biscuits & cakes I have baked today xxxx

Afternoon all, just popped in for a nosy for the first time in the coffee shop. I should be packing as I´m off to look after 4 hooligans and I´ll be a slave to 4 kitties too. I spruced Tonic up and packed his things. Tina I´m looking forward to see the photos, sounds like the pooches will have great fun!

Have to get some photos put up of them, wooden frames metal & plastic roofs with the sides off the old gazebos have put a sand pit & empty paddling pool in there, also a wooden frame full of peat so they can dig up their treats & hopefully not me plants hehehe xx

It´s dry again here & sun is trying to poke though, I might even finish the dogs outdoors play area, have got 2 under cover play areas for them one being 25 x 25 foot other one being 25 x 20 foot now all i got to do it get the hooligans to play in them when raining & away from under me feet xx

Afternoon all it was beautiful this morning but now raining, buts its very hot here at moment, been to the R,S,P,C.A. today with a neighbour to look for new dog for her, was surprised at the amount of Dorkies & Dorgi in there, I did say I thought there be more Staffies, but the leading kennel hand said they are getting more cross breeds in as people buy them not knowing what their temperament is like, anyway in the end she adopted a older Cocker Spaniel, who owner had died, he is 9 years old but you would think he was a pup the way he runs about. x

Hehehe I use to have a rottweiler that use to that Tov, I was out for nearly hour on park with her & as soon as I came in the back door she had a wee, it took me nearly a year before I got her completely house trained, trick was just ignore her when she did wee in house, I would just get disinfectant out scrub kitchen floor, without saying a word or looking then when she did go outside j would made lots of fuss if her telling her she good girl kissing her that sort of stuff, mind you did get lots of crazy looks when she wee or poo in street, as I went overboard with the fussing telling her what a clever girl she was, come to think of it people did tend to avoid me & cross over road when they saw me out & that was even when I was out without me dog hehehehe xxx

you can pick straws then who is going to train poppy she can be outside playing for 1/2 hr then comes in and pees and poos on floor shes just not getting the idea at all x glad your feeling better now tina

Morning all, I had bad asthma attack during the night, its been 20 years since me last attack, spent the rest night in hospital came out at 9 this morning, looks like I am going to have to go back on me inhalers again, so what is everyone do this beautiful sunny day, I am working from home or should be, but I keep getting these wet sobering kisses from K9 & what´s worst is he is trying to push his tongue into me mouth, I mean I don´t know where his tongue as been, well yes I do & I dont wish to think about it Yuk hehee xxx

I use say hurry but they go dig up me garden so me don´t say anything now, but me taking the hooligans down to Vena as she gets them to wee on command heheheh xxx

Fab news about Heiko Vena. So pleased he´s ok. I taught mine to "go" on command too. I say "hurry up" and they go, though I didn´t teach specific commands for wee/poop. Anyway, when I left them in kennels last year I told the staff this command and still remember the look of disbelief in the kennel maids face as she wrote it down on their notes, but when I went back to collect Millie & Maddy, the kennel maid was in the yard as I got out the car and as soon as she saw me she said how she just told them to hurry up and they went - she couldn´t believe it!

Thats it me bringing me hooligans to be trained by you Vena to go wee on command hehehhe xxx

Yes it does come in handy we taught them to go on command as it was handy when camping .

Heeeeee! well good news ,no sign of crystals but has white blood cells which is apparently sign of infection, so fingers crossed thats all it is.
Had to laugh she sent us out to get Pee sample, within a second we were back with it ,the people in waiting room clapped at how quick he had done it even the vet said she was very impressed haaaaaaaa

Its sunny here to today we had a light snow shower during the night, but it cleared up to bright sunny morning, been car-booting today got lots of bargains again, I got a bag of teddy bears for dogs only £1 there was 20 teddy bears in bag, I also got a nikon camera old fashion one that takes roll of film for just £5, including 6 different lens with it, I also buy a life like size stone statue of a staffy for just £2.50p xx
