Johnsons do herbal drops designed to prevent fleas. Clio hasn´t got them but I regularly worm her and check for fleas. Not really happy with having to worm her every three months but can´t find anything natural to prevent worms. 16 Jun 2008 14:15 [Question by Gwen Hill] At last can you give me some advice. My 5 year old dachshund underwent surgery 5 weeks ago for a slipped disc ,and against all of the odds being against her getting the mobility back in her hind legs i took the gamble and she has now got her mobility back.Thank goodness .I am a believer in natural remedies and wondered if you could give me any advice on supplements I could give her to build up muscle and maybe encourage strong bone growth, she isn´t on any medication now, just cage rest and physio.I would like to do everything I can to help prevent this happening again. Thanks for any help you can provide. regards Gwen Hill. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this Gwen..I´ve only just stumbled across your message..so here goes. Firstly acquire the Homoeopathic remedy Ruta Grav potency 30 and she will require 1 tiny tablet daily, until the vial is completed. Ruta Grav works tendons, bones, ligaments and deep seated bruising as well as sprains and dislocations. It will help strengthen the weaknesses in the areas, where your dog has had surgery and problems and will help the bones and tconnective tissue´s,etc..knit back together. For muscle weakness, put your dog onto also, the Homoeopathic remedy Gelsemium, which work´s well with weakened muscles and weak and tembling limbs.....just 1 tiny tablet daily. I wouldn´t be in rush to put on the muscle tone, just continue as you are with the physiothereapy and as your pet get´s stronger within, the body will naturally build up tone and condition and you can gradually increase the exercise and fitness programme, according to your pet´s general physical condition and well-being. You could also try adding Cod Liver Oil to your pet´s food too as this contains Omega 3 fatty acids and Vitamins A and D which are essential for the absorption of calcium to help maintain strong and healthy bones and also aids mobility and supple joints as well as promoting a healthy circulatory system and slowly providing your pet with extra stamina. 1 capsule daily will be quite adequate for your pet and these can be easily obtained from any good health shop or supermarket these days. Good luck and do keep us posted on how she goes on this message board..many thank´s. | Club Members Our Pictures Our Films |
